Summary of Duties
Hematology and Coagulation Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) activities include but are not limited to the following:
- Provide technical scientific education and supportive services to assist in the provision of patient care.
- Performs routine automated and manual testing in Haematology Coagulation and verifies/interprets laboratory results.
- It is essential to promote activities that enhance best practice for quality of service and a safe working environment.
Qualifications/Skills
- Current C.M.L.T.O. Registration as a General Medical Laboratory Technologist required
- Recent Haematology experience - required
- Recent Morphology experience - preferred
- Demonstrated theoretical and practical knowledge in Haematology and Coagulation
- Demonstrate sound knowledge of Quality Control theory and its application in troubleshooting
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Ability to work as a part of a team and independently as required
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced changing environment
- Flexibility/adaptability required
- Experience with laboratory instrumentation and middleware preferred
- Knowledge and understanding of CQI
- Knowledge of quality assurance practices
- Knowledge of Accreditation Canada Diagnostics.
- Computer skills required.
- Proficiency in WORD EXCEL and PowerPoint required
