Job Purpose
Radiologic Technologists provide exams in the field of radiologic imaging to include diagnostic x-ray c-arm and bone density to the specifications of the ordering provider and radiologists needs.
Maintains knowledge concerning radiation protection and safety in addition to infection control and standard precautions.
Preform patient assessments and provide patient care in a timely professional efficient and safe manner.
Cat Scan Technologists review patient history and physicians orders. Educates patient regarding procedures equipment and exam to ensure patients understanding and cooperation.
Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice. Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots resolves and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.

Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s). Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues including repositioning patient and repeating procedure. Enters transmits and reports scan results.
May be required to provide coverage for other outreach sites located in Mt. Pleasant North Charleston and West Ashley.
Education and Work Experience
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
Minimum of 2 years independent work experience.
Registered in Radiologic Technology
Registered Computed Tomography.
Licensures Registrations Certifications
Current registration in Radiology from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist.
Current registration in Radiology from the American Registry in Computed Tomography.
Current licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association.
BLS certification.
Degree of Supervision
Employee must be able to work independently with minimal supervision of supervising technologist.
Additional Job Description
Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program. Work Experience: At least 2 years of multi-modality experience. Registration/Certification: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) ARRT Advanced Modality Registration and licensed by the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA). Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required. Skill Sets: Fully competent in advanced modality skill sets and flexible to rotate.
