Role Overview
Reporting directly to theChief Revenue Officer (CRO) the VP of Sales is a senior commercial leader responsible for driving new merchant revenue building and scaling a high-performance sales organisation and executing Fineras go-to-market strategy across iGaming high-risk and adjacent digital verticals.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You will own the full sales cycle from pipeline generation and deal structuring through to close while simultaneously building the team processes and infrastructure needed to scale. You will work closely with the CRO COO CTO Compliance/MLRO and Product to ensure commercial growth is delivered responsibly profitably and in full alignment with regulatory requirements. The core mission of this role:Build a world-class sales function win high-value merchant relationships in iGaming and beyond and deliver sustainable scalable revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth
- Own and deliver new business revenue targets across iGaming high-risk and adjacent digital merchant verticals.
- Develop and execute a structured multi-channel go-to-market sales strategy encompassing direct sales partnerships and referral channels.
- Identify and prioritise new geographic markets and verticals for expansion (EU MENA LatAm APAC).
- Build and maintain a robust data-driven sales pipeline with full visibility and accurate forecasting.
- Develop competitive merchant pricing models revenue share structures and commercial frameworks in collaboration with the CRO and CFO.
Sales Leadership & Team Building
- Recruit lead develop and retain a high-performing team of Business Development Managers Account Executives and Sales Development Representatives.
- Define team structure territories and specialisations aligned to the companys growth strategy and target segments.
- Establish clear KPIs quotas pipeline metrics and performance dashboards to drive accountability and results.
- Embed a culture of excellence coaching continuous improvement and commercial ambition within the sales team.
- Work with HR and the CRO to ensure the team is appropriately resourced incentivised and developed.
Merchant & Partner Acquisition
- Lead direct acquisition of high-value iGaming operators online gaming platforms affiliates and digital merchants.
- Build and manage strategic relationships with acquirers card schemes alternative payment providers ISOs and referral partners.
- Negotiate and close complex commercial agreements partnership deals and revenue share arrangements.
- Represent the company at key industry events including SBC Summit SiGMA ICE London iGaming Next and Money20/20.
Merchant Onboarding & Handover
- Ensure a seamless commercially focused handover of won merchants to Account Management and Customer Success teams.
- Collaborate with Compliance and Underwriting to ensure merchant onboarding (KYB/KYC) is completed efficiently without compromising risk standards.
- Champion a positive merchant onboarding experience as a commercial differentiator.
Collaboration with Compliance Risk & Product
- Partner closely with the Compliance/MLRO function to ensure all commercial activities align with regulatory requirements.
- Work with Product and Technology to feed merchant and market intelligence into product development priorities.
- Ensure the sales team is trained to sell responsibly within regulated and high-risk merchant frameworks.
- Collaborate with the CFO on pricing integrity margin management and commercial forecasting.
Brand Market Presence & Thought Leadership
- Partner with Marketing to strengthen the companys brand positioning in the iGaming payments ecosystem.
- Contribute to thought leadership strategy through conference participation panels and industry content.
- Actively build and leverage a personal network across the iGaming payments and FinTech landscape.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven track recordas VP Sales Head of Sales or senior commercial leader within a PSP acquiring bank payment gateway or iGaming payment provider.
- Deep domain expertisein iGaming online betting and/or high-risk merchant payments including a strong understanding of acquiring chargeback management and payment flow optimisation.
- Demonstrated successbuilding managing and scaling sales teams across multiple geographies ideally including EU MENA LatAm or APAC.
- Strong existing networkacross iGaming operators payment providers acquirers ISOs and industry decision-makers.
- Experience closing complex multi-stakeholder commercial dealsincluding revenue share agreements white-label arrangements and partnership contracts.
- Commercially sharpwith the ability to build business cases pricing models and forecasts in close collaboration with Finance.
- Regulatory awareness understands compliance KYB/KYC and responsible merchant underwriting within regulated payment environments.
- Bachelors degree in Business Finance or a related field; MBA or equivalent is an advantage.
Essential Industry Experience:Candidates without direct PSP acquiring or iGaming payments experience will not be considered for this role. A strong personal network within the iGaming vertical is a significant advantage.
