Santander is looking for a Head of Product Design based out of Santa Fe CDMX.
Were shaping the way we workthrough innovation cutting-edge technology collaboration and the freedom to explore new ideas. To succeed in this role you will be responsible for:
Key Responsibilities
- Define the 13 year product design vision and strategic experience roadmap co-creating it with the global design team and adapting it to the local context to ensure global-local alignment and a consistent evolution of the customer experience.
- Lead the design and co-creation of strategic digital experience solutions (products services and journeys) ensuring validation of their desirability viability and feasibility through early-stage experiments with users business areas and technology in order to secure a strong Product-Market Fit before large-scale implementation.
- Drive the end-to-end (E2E) design strategy for digital products connecting the global vision with local execution by prioritizing initiatives within a strategic backlog and ensuring experience consistency across all customer touchpoints.
- Oversee design consistency across platforms and customer journeys promoting the adoption of ResearchOps and DesignOps practices as well as the application of Voice of the Customer (VoC) and user-centered design methodologies (Design Thinking HCD behavioral design Lean UX etc.) in decision-making with the goal of continuously improving design quality and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure design consistency across platforms and business cases aligned with the global strategy; systematically integrate customer insights; and guarantee evidence-based product decisions grounded in both qualitative and quantitative data using user-centered methodologies to maximize impact on experience and business metrics.
- Lead the Product Design team (senior designers UX/UI etc.) fostering their professional development interdisciplinary collaboration and a strong customer-centric culture ensuring the team has the capabilities and motivation needed to deliver high-quality experiences aligned with business objectives.
- Collaborate closely with other key areas (Product Technology Data Marketing Operations) to ensure the integration of design into the business strategy and the successful implementation of experience initiatives acting as an ambassador of the design vision to senior leadership and promoting a customer-centric culture across the organization. Represent Mexico in global initiatives identifying opportunities to lead capabilities.

Professional Experience
- 10 years of experience in digital product design and UX/UI
- 10 years of experience in Customer Experience and user-centered design
- 5 years leading design teams and/or end-to-end (E2E) strategic initiatives
- 5 years of experience in global or multicultural environments
- 5 years working in complex corporate environments and agile methodologies.
- Experience in consulting agencies or digital companies is desirable (banking experience is not required)
Education
- Bachelors degree required in Design Innovation Engineering Psychology Communication or related fields
- Postgraduate degree preferred (MBA or specialization in UX/CX)
- Certifications in UX CX or innovation methodologies
Languages
- Advanced English (mandatory)
Technical Skills (Hard Skills)
- Advanced proficiency in UX/UI and Product Design
- Definition of design strategy and digital roadmaps
- End-to-end design of products and customer journeys
- Governance and evolution of Design Systems
- Knowledge of CX metrics (NPS CSAT digital analytics)
- Experience across digital channels (App Web omnichannel)
- Integration of emerging technologies (AI bots conversational design)
- Frontend knowledge (desirable for better collaboration with technology teams)
- Vendor management and digital ecosystem oversight
- Agile methodologies (Scrum Kanban Lean UX Design Thinking)
