SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The Clinical Nurse Supervisor provides part time leadership and clinical oversight for designated behavioral health and community health programs within Heartland Family Service. This role ensures safe compliant and recovery-oriented nursing care by supervising Registered Nurses Licensed Practical Nurses and Medication Aides.
This position will continue to work in current HFS nursing role but will spend approximately 25% of their time overseeing nursing operations with a focus on medication safety staff competencies documentation quality and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to support client safety and quality outcomes.
Compensation: salary is determined by total years of relevant experience.
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Active Registered Nurse license in a Compact state in good standing
- Two years nursing experience required; behavioral health or community health experience preferred
- Prior supervisory or charge nurse experience preferred
- CPR and First Aid required; BLS preferred
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide clinical supervision and real time support to RNs LPNs and Medication Aides within scope of practice and organizational policy.
- Review medication related and clinical concerns coordinate with prescribers and program leadership regarding issues suggest process improvements and monitor changes made to ensure they are being consistently implemented.
- Oversee medication administration systems including ordering storage counts controlled substances and disposal.
- Monitor MAR accuracy PRN usage high risk medications and documentation quality through focused chart reviews.
- Lead medication variance reporting root cause analysis and corrective actions to reduce risk.
- Ensure staff competency validation and appropriate delegation of nursing tasks.
- Support onboarding and skills check offs for nursing staff and Medication Aides.
- Provide limited backup coverage within assigned FTE and assist with coordination of coverage when needed.
- Ensure compliance with state nursing rules organizational policies and behavioral health regulatory requirements.
- Conduct targeted medication room and environment of care checks and support audit readiness.
- Facilitate brief nursing huddles and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address risks and care needs.
- Document supervisory activities competencies and quality improvement actions in designated systems.
- Create maintain and share as appropriate a dynamic self-care plan.
- Strive to make connections between the agency and the larger community whenever possible to contribute to the agencys ongoing fundraising and friend-raising efforts.
- Essential functions of this job are to be performed on company physical work site or designated workspace.
