THIS IS A GRANT-FUNDED POSITION FUNDED UNTIL MARCH 31 2028

JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Under the direction of the Chair in Ophthalmology the Research Technician 2 works to better understand the clinical and regulatory aspects of Hamilton Eye Institutes Clinical Trial Unit. Utilizing science derived from the AI lab this position collects records and mines data from clinical research databases.

Responsibilities

Assists the Principal Investigator (PI) with patient recruitment protocol visits consent process appointment scheduling and follow-up visits.
Extrapolates clinical data from patient charts for review.
Prepares for all visits site monitoring of documentation and CRF information and audits under the direction of the PI.
Drafts IRB applications and submissions; coordinates IRB applications and submissions.
Tracks petty cash needed for research trials and patient reimbursements distributed.
Assists in contacting entities for needed services including pharmacy and laboratory services for required processing of specimens to include obtaining cost estimates.
Performs logistical planning for the implementation of multiple individual protocols.
Assists the PI in monitoring expenditures and earned capitation dollars for each clinical trial assigned.
Generates database and mining of existing databases.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:Bachelors Degree in one of the Sciences. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

EXPERIENCE: ORa combination of college coursework and work experience to equal four (4) years.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Skill in database analysis.
Knowledge of ophthalmic disease and health.
Knowledge of ocular tumors and pathology.

WORK SCHEDULE: This position may occasionally be required to workweekends and evenings.
