The Chief of Breast Imaging directs the expansion and enhancement of Breast Imaging services for Northwell Health at hospitals in the Nuvance Market. The Chief identifies opportunities and works with the Health System on development of Breast Imaging strategies. Enhances and standardizes patient care while continually providing quality service.
Responsibilities:
1. Recruits and retains high quality physicians in accordance with operational need.
2. Is responsible for ensuring compliance with all DOH JCAHO MQSA institutional and other requirements.
3. Is responsible for quality assurance within the division including but not limited to implementing standards under the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC)
4. Directs the expansion and enhancement of breast imaging services by:
a. Coordinating with oncology and surgery services to promote program growth quality and continuity of patient care
b. Partnering across service lines to develop an overall integrated cancer care strategy
c. Working directly with breast surgery and oncology leadership to improve access to imaging and further oncologic care
d. Collaborating with breast imaging leadership breast surgery and oncology leadership to develop refine and implement clinical protocols that optimize patient care and support expedited breast care pathways
5. Increases visibility locally nationally and internationally of Northwell in breast imaging.
6. Is responsible for resident and medical student teaching supervision and evaluation.
7. Promotes research and other academic activity within the division.
8. Keeps abreast of literature and current trends in related field.
a. Maintains standards of professional ethics and clinical competency.
b. Reports on current topics meetings and conferences to attending members.
c. Demonstrates a sound knowledge of specialty and related field.
9. Performs related duties as required.
Requirements: Board certified Radiologist with Breast/Body Image Fellowship Training. A minimum of 7 years of post-fellowship clinical experience preferred. Previous leadership experienced preferred. Ability to obtain New York state physician licensure.
