Virginia Military Institute is excited to announce our open position in Department Human Performance and Wellness. This is a key position to help coordinate the needs of the Department and Cormack Hall. We are looking for a candidate with a positive attitude that is willing and motivated to take on various responsibilities learn new skills and work closely with the HPW Department Head as it relates to Cormack Hall policies procedures and maintenance. This is a full-time position with benefits.
Job Duties:
Coordinate scheduling of activities for Cormack Hall.
Facilitate the safe and secure use of Cormack Hall to ensure maximum participation/service while controlling inherent risks.
Maintain equipment and facilities for the Rat Challenge Program as well as Human Performance and Wellness supported programs as needed.
Coordinate with Physical Plant for repair/maintenance needs for Cormack Hall.
Maintain inventory of Human Performance and Wellness property.
Receive inventory and store/issue incoming equipment and property.
Work with Department Head on establishing policies and procedures.
Perform general duties such as laundry and related departmental needs as coordinated through Department Head.
Minimum Qualifications
Valid Virginia Drivers License
High school diploma or equivalent
Additional Considerations
Strong written and verbal communication skills to facilitate collaboration and coordination within the department across post and with outside vendors/agencies.
Computer literacy including Microsoft office
Technical skills to facilitate basic equipment and facility repairs and troubleshooting
Strong organizational skills to manage schedules inventories ordering etc.
Detail-oriented as it relates managing risks to health/safety equipment/facility functionality cleanliness etc.
Physical capacity (ability to lift objects exceeding 50 lb)
Able to operate state vehicles (CDL preferred)
Self-starter and ability to adapt to varying daily/weekly demands
Willingness and motivation to learn new skills
Team-player that is able and motivated to work with diverse populations
Professionalism (e.g. appearance and presentation; interaction with coworkers)
