As a seasonal Adoption Counselor at WHS you will make an impact by offering valuable services to the community and providing support to animals. Position Summary

Job Responsibilities

Commit to a welcoming supportive and non-judgmental approach with all clients callers and coworkers
Help animals find new homes via our same-day adoption process
Support client questions in person by phone and via email
Process register transactions and support customers with products in retail store
Maintain accurate and objective records in our animal management software
Work cooperatively within your own department and cross departmentally
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Available to work daytime evening and weekend shifts
Position begins mid-May and concludes in September dates negotiable
Must be able to routinely carry 25lbs and up to 50lbs
Must be committed to our organizational values of compassion respect and kindness innovation professionalism equity and positive approach
Ability to partner with clients staff and volunteers from diverse backgrounds
Ability to manage assigned personal schedule and timecard
Prior client services and animal experience a plus
Bilingual applicants are strongly encouraged to apply

About us:

TheWisconsin Humane Society(WHS) is the oldest and largest shelter in Wisconsin. It was founded in 1879 and operates shelters in Milwaukee Ozaukee Racine Door Brown and Kenosha Counties as well as a Spay/Neuter Clinic in West Allis and a wildlife rehabilitation center in Milwaukee. The organization offers adoption services youth programs low-cost veterinary resources retail stores volunteer programs dog training classes and much more. WHS is an independent nonprofit and receives no general government funding and is not part of any national umbrella group.
