Location: Cardiff (Hybrid Working)
Salary: 45000 - 55000

I am currently working on behalf of a well-established engineering consultancy to appoint a Civil Engineer to join their growing team in Cardiff. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a major pipeline of work linked to AMP8 and beyond supporting UK Water Authorities on large-scale infrastructure projects.

The successful candidate will join a collaborative and dynamic team contributing to the design and delivery of a wide range of water sector projects including potable water networks foul drainage CSO remediation works and both Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS) and conventional surface water drainage schemes.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake civil engineering design for water infrastructure projects
• Deliver designs for potable water mains foul drainage and surface water systems
• Support CSO remediation and SuDS design projects
• Prepare and manage statutory approvals (e.g. S104 S106)
• Utilise software such as MicroDrainage and/or InfoDrainage for 3D modelling
• Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders
• Manage multiple projects ensuring deadlines and deliverables are met
• Contribute to a high-quality client-focused service delivery

Candidate Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering (Masters preferred)
• 3 years experience within the water sector (design and/or construction)
• Experience with potable surface and foul water systems
• Familiarity with statutory approval processes (S104 S106 etc.)
• Experience or exposure to SAB / SuDS approvals
• Proficiency with MicroDrainage InfoDrainage or similar design tools
• Working towards or willing to pursue Chartership (ICE CIWEM or similar)
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
