Job Description Summary
As a Senior Forward Deployed Architect GridOS & Energy Systems you will play a pivotal role in supporting the long-term success of strategic customer deployments by defining and governing the architecture for the maintenance evolution and integration of GE Vernova solutions within the customer environment in complex OT and IT environments.
Based in Oslo and working in close proximity to the customer including regular presence on customer site you will act as the bridge between customer stakeholders Services Product Management and Engineering teams. You will ensure best-in-class and optimal technical design aligned with customer functional and non-functional requirements while promoting the use of standard products standard interfaces and reference architectures.
This role is focused on post-sales delivery adoption strategic technical leadership and integration architecture across OT and IT environments with particular relevance to energy systems OT platforms and Energy Management Systems.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Solution Architecture & Solution Evolution:
- Define and maintain architecture for integrations between GE Vernova solutions and customer-owned applications across OT and IT environments.
- Ensure design proposals address functional and non-functional requirements including performance availability cybersecurity maintainability and scalability.
- Promote standardization through the use of reference architectures reference solutions and reusable design patterns.
- Evaluate the impact of changes and enhancements on the existing deployed solution landscape and surrounding systems.
Collaboration and Delivery:
- Work in coordination with the Services function including Technical Leads Managers and Project Managers to support successful implementation and adoption.
- Manage the involvement of SMEs including cybersecurity infrastructure domain and integration experts and ensure their contributions meet system architecture requirements.
- Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineering teams on return on experience product enhancements and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate knowledge capitalization and dissemination across Services and Solution Design teams.
- Be accountable for planning architecture activities reporting progress and completing activities in scope in line with approved budgets and timelines.
Skills & Qualifications
Must Have:
- Previous experience as Solution Architect. Technical Architect or similar role in a comparable domain
- Strong experience with systems having demanding requirements in terms of:
- real-time monitoring and control
- 24/7 availability
- Cybersecurity
- mission-critical operations
- Experience in energy systems OT environments or Energy Management Systems.
- Strong understanding of integration architectures spanning OT and IT environments.
- Cloud architecture experience (AWS and/or Azure) and experience with cloud-native technologies such as containers and Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of microservices design principles including RESTful services and API development.
- Experience with systems deployed in on-premise / virtualized environments (Windows Linux VMware).
- Exposure to iterative product development and program management techniques including Agile SAFe Scrum and DevOps.
- Strong awareness of cybersecurity principles and data protection considerations particularly as they relate to critical infrastructure.
- Ability to define architectures using standard products standard interfaces and appropriate architecture patterns to meet business and technical requirements.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Professional English level.
Nice to Have:
- Energy sector / Electric utility Industry domain knowledge
- Experience with OT/SCADA systems for monitoring and controlling industrial processes
- Knowledge of emerging energy industry trends and implications on utility customers (Renewables and DER orchestration distribution planning IT SCADA)
- Experience in a forward deployed resident or embedded customer-facing architecture role.
- Understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF.
- Experience in Services or software commissioning in OT environments.
- Norwegian language skills.
