Job Summary

A growing organization in the aerospace and defense industry is seeking a motivated Supplier Development Engineer to support supplier performance quality and process improvement initiatives. This role is ideal for an early-to-mid career engineer who is eager to develop expertise in supplier management manufacturing processes and quality systems.

The position involves working closely with suppliers and internal cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues improve processes and ensure products meet quality and regulatory standards. This is a hands-on role with strong opportunities for professional growth and technical development.

Responsibilities

  • Support supplier relationships to ensure quality cost and delivery expectations are met

  • Assist in resolving supplier technical and manufacturing issues

  • Identify and help qualify new suppliers for hard-to-source components

  • Analyze supplier processes and support continuous improvement initiatives

  • Participate in PFMEA risk assessments and corrective action efforts

  • Assist with supplier audits and ensure compliance with quality standards

  • Review incoming materials to verify quality and specifications

  • Maintain documentation for supplier performance audits and process changes

  • Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to resolve issues and improve outcomes

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related technical field

  • 15 years of experience in manufacturing supplier quality or engineering (aerospace defense or automotive industries preferred)

  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes quality systems and continuous improvement methodologies

  • Familiarity with tools such as PFMEA process flow diagrams and root cause analysis is a plus

  • Strong analytical problem-solving and organizational skills

  • Effective communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and with external suppliers

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office particularly Excel

  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and grow in a technical environment
