Job Title: Senior BI Consultant (Power BI)

Location: Everett MA (Hybrid 1 day onsite per week)
Duration: 6 Months
Work Schedule: 37.5 hours/week (7.5 hours/day)

Position Overview

Navitas Partners LLC is seeking an experienced Senior BI Consultant / Power BI Developer to support ongoing data warehouse and analytics initiatives. This role focuses on designing developing and maintaining business intelligence solutions using Microsoft technologies particularly Power BI.

The ideal candidate is highly analytical experienced in enterprise BI environments and capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable reporting and data visualization solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop reporting solutions using Microsoft Power BI

• Migrate legacy SSRS reports to Power BI Report Server

• Build maintain and optimize dashboards and data models

• Collaborate with data engineering analytics teams and stakeholders

• Translate business requirements into technical BI solutions

• Implement data visualization best practices and standards

• Optimize report performance and usability

• Support and enhance existing BI solutions

• Participate in data warehouse and reporting modernization efforts

• Develop enterprise BI models using tools like SSAS AAS and dataflows

• Design and maintain cubes metadata and reporting layers

• Enable ad-hoc reporting for large datasets

• Create technical documentation across the development lifecycle

• Mentor junior developers and contribute to team knowledge sharing

• Monitor BI systems for performance and usage metrics

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in a technical field

• 5 years of experience in:

  • Power BI development (reports dashboards scorecards)

  • SQL and writing efficient queries

• Strong experience with:

  • Power BI data connections and transformations

  • Data modeling and visualization best practices

  • SSRS SSIS and ETL processes

• Experience working with:

  • SQL Server and Oracle databases

  • SSAS (Tabular Models)

  • Data warehouse and data mart architectures

• Solid understanding of:

  • OLAP concepts and data analytics frameworks

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. Azure)

• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies

• Knowledge of dimensional modeling (fact/dimension star schema)

• Experience with additional BI tools (e.g. Cognos)

• Power BI Certification is a plus

• Strong team collaboration mindset with a proactive approach
