IT Intern, Software Development

Whats the Short Version

The Software Development Intern is responsible for assisting a Software Development team during an 8 week program.

What Will You Be Doing

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and objectives.
• Assist in designing developing and implementing software solutions according to specifications.
• Write clean efficient and maintainable code in various programming languages (e.g. Java C).
• Conduct unit tests and debugging to ensure software functionality and performance meet quality standards.
• Participate in code reviews to provide feedback and identify areas for improvement.
• Document technical specifications processes and procedures.
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and optimize software performance.
• Support deployment and release processes.
• Participate in intern cohort activities including: professional development workshops warehouse tours and meetings with leadership.

What Are We Looking For

• Currently working towards a Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or related field
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java C or JavaScript.
• Familiarity with software development methodologies (e.g. Agile Scrum etc.).
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Prior internship experience or personal projects demonstrating software development skills is a plus.
• Knowledge of version control systems (e.g. Git) is desirable.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and challenges.

Whats Our Offer

Pay: Youll earn $25.00 on an hourly basis.

Paid Time Off: Youll accrue paid time off on a weekly basis based on hours worked.

What Should You Expect

Office: While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger handle or feel and stand and walk. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Ability to work on computer and mobile phone for multiple hours; with frequent interruptions. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Work environment is moderately quiet. Required to travel in elevator or stairwells to attend meetings and engage with associates on multiple floors throughout building. SanMars Eastpointe office is located near Seattle WA and our standard working hours are 8:00-5:00 PST.
