Position Overview

Saint Leo the Great Catholic School is seeking a joyful faith-filled Preschool Teacher to join our early childhood program.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and implement engaging play-based lessons aligned with early childhood standards
• Create a nurturing structured and joyful classroom environment
• Support developmentally appropriate learning across academic social and emotional domains
• Ensure the safety supervision and well-being of all students at all times
• Foster strong relationships with students families and colleagues
• Collaborate with faculty and participate in meetings planning and professional development
• Integrate Catholic values and faith formation into daily classroom experiences
• Maintain effective classroom management and positive student engagement

Qualifications

Required:

• VA state licensure or VCEA certification
• Alignment with the mission of Catholic education
• Experience working with young children
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Passion for early childhood development and education

Preferred:

• Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
• Teaching certification or relevant preschool experience
• Practicing Catholic (or strong support of Catholic mission)
