Job Summary

A vacancy has arisen for a FS or Sgt (Intelligence Profession) to serve as Intelligence Profession Skills Manager at RAF High Wycombe on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS) with an initial proposed start date of 28 September 2026 (or earlier/later subject to candidate status).

Whilst this position will be formally established at RAF High Wycombe Line Management are open to the successful candidates request for an Alternate Working Arrangement (AWA) of Remote Working (RW) if they would prefer. It is desirable that if the successful candidate works remotely they will still travel to RAF High Wycombe every 3 months for approximately 2 to 3 days for in person engagement with the team.

Brief description of role:

The Skills Manager is responsible for the daytoday delivery of the Pan Defence Skills Framework (PDSF) across the Intelligence Profession supporting Defences transition to a SkillsBased Organisation and the development of SkillsBased Careers. Core responsibilities include:

  • Acting as the RAF Intelligence focal point for MOD and RAF PDSF teams.
  • Supporting the authoring and approval of PDSF Roles and Skills to ensure the Professions specialist requirements are fully represented.
  • Building maintaining and coordinating a network of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to enable effective PDSF development and robust skill management.
  • Managing SCIO skill requests and coordinating SME engagement where required.
  • Auditing submitted skill requests to assure the accuracy consistency and integrity of PDSF data.
  • Keeping the Chain of Command informed of PDSF progress risks and opportunities to support evidencebased programme decisions.
  • Leading internal communications across the Profession to promote the PDSF provide guidance and address queries.
  • Providing wider support to the Intelligence Profession Governance Team on Professionrelated tasks and initiatives.

The Skills Manager will also serve as the teams primary MODNet Super User and SharePoint Administrator. Training will be provided as required.
