ASSISTANT DEAN STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES Student Support Services will join a well-established highly utilized team to support our students in the intersections of their academic and personal lives; offer advice and support to enhance student success and provides assistance for students whose personal concerns may interfere with their ability to engage fully in Institute life; meet individually with students on personal and academic issues and provide broad outreach programming to facilitate connections across MITs student staff and faculty community; assist in developing protocols and programs that impact students in the broad MIT community; serve as a consultant to faculty instructors or staff who have concerns about students well-being or academic progress; and as delegated by the Associate Dean and Director of S3 or Senior Associate Dean and Director assists in crisis situations with senior administrators to assess student situations and determine appropriate referral or resources.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: Masters degree preferably in counseling psychology or education; a minimum of four years of counseling experience; excellent interpersonal writing and listening skills; ability to deal with intense and sensitive situations; be thorough attentive and resourceful; and ability to take initiative plan develop and execute on projects while working in a high pressure dynamic environment. PREFERRED: PhD/PsyD; or experience in Higher Education.
