Job Summary
AWS Finance seeks a world class Sr. Financial Analyst. This position works closely with senior business partners and finance professionals at all levels to drive thoughtful analysis and controllership on AWSs products.
Key job responsibilities
- Influencing business partner decisions through education and collaboration on costs pricing customer adoption etc.
- Collaborating with business partners to build and maintain detailed cost models by product/service
- Driving the financial planning/budgeting activities
- Preparing and providing financial reporting including communicating future financial risks and opportunities to the business
- Developing and standardizing financial reporting
- Working on ad hoc financial analyses and projects
A day in the life
A successful candidate will implement and drive the core financial processes for the business. Additional responsibilities include helping refine the capacity planning processes and modeling improvements to help drive positive Free Cash Flow.
This role requires a self-starter with a strong financial modeling background problem solving skills a keen attention to detail ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous situations and solid skills in project management. This role has regular interaction with various business units across Amazon and requires strong people skills.

- 3 years of tax finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelors degree in finance accounting business economics or a related analytical field (e.g. engineering math computer science) or Bachelors degree and 3 years of quantitative role (engineering process re-engineering quality assurance) experience
- Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence
- 4 years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
- MBA or CPA
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL MS Access Essbase Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle SAP Lawson JD Edwards)
- 4 years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- 4 years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
- 4 years of identifying leading and executing opportunities to improve automate standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
