The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the design implementation optimization and security of complex enterprise network infrastructures. This role provides technical leadership mentors junior engineers and ensures high availability scalability and performance of network systems across on-premises and cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and architecture of enterprise LAN WAN SD-WAN WLAN and data center networks.
Plan and execute network upgrades migrations and expansions.
Configure and manage advanced routing and switching (BGP OSPF EIGRP).
Implement and maintain network security solutions (firewalls IDS/IPS VPNs NAC).
Design high-availability and disaster recovery solutions.
Optimize network performance and conduct capacity planning.
Lead root cause analysis for major network incidents and outages.
Develop and maintain detailed network documentation and diagrams.
Mentor junior network engineers and provide technical guidance.
Work closely with cloud security and systems teams to support hybrid environments (AWS Azure GCP).
Evaluate and recommend new networking technologies and best practices.
Ensure compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements.
Manage vendor relationships and coordinate with third-party providers.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field (or equivalent experience).
510 years of hands-on experience in network engineering.
Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP MPLS QoS VLANs and network segmentation.
Strong experience with enterprise routing and switching platforms.
Expertise in firewall technologies and network security architecture.
Experience with SD-WAN and cloud networking.
Strong troubleshooting skills in high-availability environments.
Experience with network monitoring and performance tools.
Preferred Certifications
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)
CompTIA Network
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
Cloud certifications (AWS Advanced Networking Azure Network Engineer Associate)

May require 24/7 on-call rotation.
