As a Mechanical and Electrical Coordinator you will be responsible for the coordination of the mechanical and electrical requirements for the project. This includes reviewing the project scope of work and directing the subcontractors in the installation of the M&E components
Key Responsibilities:
1. Submittals & ACC Management (Primary Task)
- Receive review submit and track M&E submittals
- Manage submittals through ACC
- Distribute comments to subcontractors and manage resubmissions
- Track issues and ensure timely resolution
2. BIM & Coordination
- Manage and resolve M&E coordination issues arising from BIM and/Site
- Coordinate with subs BIM team and consultants
3. Meetings
- Attend bi-weekly M&E subcontractor meetings
- Attend bi-weekly owner/consultant meetings as required
- Attend bi-weekly BIM coordination meetings
4. Commissioning & Closeout
- Act as the Contractor commissioning Lead
- Prepare review and submit closeout documents (as-builts O&M manuals)
5. QA & Inspections
- Define and assist the QA Manager to determine checkpoints prior to closeout
- Support QA inspections for M&E elements and deficiency closure
6. Commercial Support
- Support review of CCNs and change costs
- Participate in review of value engineering items
- Ensure distribution to M&E of SI CCN CO to subcontractor.
Requirements
Education: University Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering;
Experience: Minimum 5 years experience with M&E Coordination preferably in the Construction industry;
5 years of relevant experience in construction;
bilingual French-English both orally and in writing (an asset)
proficient in MS Office and MS Project software;
LEED accreditation is an asset;
Working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques estimating drawings and specifications building material and required standards applicable to discipline.
