POSITION TITLE:Maintenance Director

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have at least 5 years of extensive maintenance experience
Must have supervisory experience
Ability to follow instructions & take the initiative in the performance of assigned tasks
Physical ability to walk stoop stand twist & squat on a constant basis
Lift a minimum of 60pounds
Must have a high school diploma or GED

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Job Summary

Oversees the management and daily operations of district facilities. The successful candidate must be excellent in organizational and communication skills.

Recruits hires and oversees the evaluation of custodial and maintenance staff.
Plans and directs the work of all building and grounds personnel involved in the maintenance and custodial operations on school properties and related facilities.
Assess evaluate and determine the proper action to be taken to complete repairs in an effective and timely manner utilizing school policy fundamental maintenance practices and prioritizing decision-making.
Conducts routine and periodic inspections of schools and facilities.
Analyzes needs and makes recommendations for procurement of materials and supplies.
Prepares specifications and submits cost estimates of proposed work activities.
Supervises building and grounds maintenance inventory and implements a system of controls.
Provides training and professional development for maintenance and custodial staff as needed.
Conducts safety inspections accident investigations and training programs to create a safe environment.
Develops and executes annual priority list for maintenance of buildings.
Ensures compliance with State Facility Department regulations.
Oversees compliance with OSHA regulations.
Keep the administration informed of matters related to maintenance.
Other duties as assigned.
