About the role

The Treatment Plant Officer is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the active assets associated with sewage treatment plants recycled water pump stations and associated plant and equipment. They provide expert operational advice that contributes to the strategic delivery of recycled water and sewage treatment plant services on a 24/7 basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review Operational process streams and adjust to meet environmental regulation.
  • Lead and maintain Site compliance with all legislated conditions and ACTS.
  • Provide strategic and operational advice for recycled water and sewage treatment plant services delivered on a 24/7 basis.
  • Manage contractors project and civil works.
  • Supervise work teams and plan work projects in relation to materials needed and labour allocations.
  • Supervise isolation and repair of asset failures and the completion of replacement and renewals as required.
  • Liaise with different council sections contractors and customers as required and provide information.
  • Monitor and assist in the Citys delivery of continuous safe and reliable Sewage Treatment and recycled water to meet the communities needs and expectations

Were looking for people who have:

  • Certificate III in Water Industry Treatment (Wastewater) or equivalent and / or extensive experience managing plant activities or equivalent
  • C Class Drivers Licence (Mandatory)
  • General Construction Induction Card (White) (Mandatory)
  • Ability to participate in an On Call roster
  • Ability to undertake a SOCI ACT AUS CHECK (completed during Onboarding)
  • A high level of interpersonal negotiation verbal and written communication skills with an ability to articulate complex issues coordinate effective consultation and manage conflict in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to prioritise problems gather and analyse information to identify improvement opportunities and engage the right people to reach better outcomes
  • Well-developed planning organisational skills with demonstrated effectiveness in applying project management to achieve goals
  • Personal drive and integrity to provide leadership deliver successfully under pressure exercise sound judgement and learn continuously
  • Demonstrated capacity to identify significant issues in a regulatory environment and recommend appropriate responses and solutions
  • Be able to manage medium sized teams
