Job Summary
We are seeking a Molecular Biology & Protein Scientist to support : DNA construct design/assembly sample preparation for sequencing DNA production & quantitation mammalian cell culture & transfections protein purification & quantitation and automated liquid handling directly on a client site. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in biochemistry or a related field who thrives in a collaborative fast-paced laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- DNA plasmid design & cloning purification quantitation & QC
- High throughput molecular biology operations including PCR setup ligation reactions DNA purification using liquid handling automation.
- Nanopore sequencing: sample preparation system operation & data analysis
- Maintain mammalian cell lines using aseptic techniques and ensure consistent supply for twice-weekly transient transfection processes.
- Perform transient transfections and purify antibodies/proteins using automated equipment under supervision.
- Cell-free peptide expression using automated equipment under supervision.
- Accurately document experimental procedures and results in client-provided Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELNs).
- Analyze and summarize data upon training and contribute to troubleshooting and continuous improvement efforts
Qualifications :
- B.S. in Biochemistry or a related field.
- 02 years of relevant laboratory experience.
- Proficiency in aseptic technique and mammalian cell culture.
- Basic understanding of molecular biology techniques.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
Additional Information :
The position is onsite full-time first shift Monday through Friday. Candidates must be flexible to adapt to schedule changes requiring shift changes and/or weekend work and overtime may be required as needed. Candidates living within a commutable distance of Cambridge MA are encouraged to apply.
