Are you passionate about supporting children to flourish and achieve their best Do you believe in the power of kindness respect and high expectations to transform lives At Elmswell Community Primary School we are looking for a dedicated EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) Teaching Assistant to join our EYFS Team who shares our vision of nurturing curious confident and compassionate childrens first experiences of school are positive meaningful and provide a firm foundation in preparing them for life in our school community and beyond.

About the role

As a Teaching Assistant in our reception class you will play a vital role in supporting pupils learning and development working closely under the guidance of class teachers and senior staff.

Your responsibilities will be to:

  • provide one-to-one support to pupils helping them engage fully with learning activities
  • assist small groups and individuals with tasks and activities tailored to their needs
  • supporting classroom preparation and creating an inviting stimulating learning environment
  • maintain records of pupil progress and behaviour to inform teaching strategies
  • help to ensure the safety and wellbeing of pupils in line with safeguarding policies
  • participate in school events trips and playground supervision.
  • may be required to cover some lunchtime duties.

You will be a valued member of our team contributing to an atmosphere where every pupil feels supported and encouraged to reach their full potential.

You will:

  • have experience working with children (preferably EYFS).
  • understand safeguarding requirements and be committed to pupil wellbeing and safety
  • be patient caring and sensitive to the individual needs of pupils
  • communicate clearly and professionally with pupils staff and parents
  • be confident using IT to support learning and administrative tasks
  • demonstrate flexibility teamwork and a proactive approach to challenges.
