Job Summary

  • Contribute to high-quality teaching and research by providing hands-on technical expertise for the Biomedical Science platform based at Crawley campus.
  • Join a collaborative team focused on safety service excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Part-time appointment on a fixed term basis until February 2027. The appointment will be 0.4 FTE during off-peak periods flexing up to 0.8 FTE during peak teaching periods. Peak periods generally align with UWAs semesters
  • Base salary range: $77205 $82011p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

College Services supports UWAs Schools by delivering highquality academic administration and technical services. Within this the Technical Services team provides disciplinespecific expertise across laboratory management workshop support teaching delivery research optimisation equipment stewardship and fieldwork preparation.

About the opportunity

  • Assist with the setup of teaching environments liaising with senior technical staff to ensure appropriate materials and equipment are available and fit for purpose
  • Work as part of an experienced and supportive technical team committed to high standards safety and service
  • Prepare maintain and clean the laboratory teaching spaces as well as the routine functioning maintenance and reporting of the sterilisation & decontamination area in the School of Molecular Sciences.

About you

  • Year 12 or equivalent competency
  • Relevant experience at an appropriate level
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Well-developed organisational skills and demonstrated ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in a range of computing skills including word processing spreadsheets email and online/internet based systems
