Landfill Labourer

Infracon Constructions Minex division is seeking hardworking experienced Labourers to support a our operations at the Campbell Hill landfill located in Cache Creek BC.

The ideal candidates have previous civil construction labouring and must be accountable reliable and adaptable to all working conditions. Locals close to the project site will be given preference for these opportunities.

Successful candidate(s) will participate in safety meetings hazard assessment (JHA FLHAetc.).

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and clean work site load / unload materials assist in laying out liners and removing workplace hazards.
• Assist heavy equipment operators to secure special attachments to equipment signal operators to guide them in moving equipment
• Level earth to fine grade specifications using rake and shovel
• Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites using rakes shovels wheelbarrows and other equipment
• Safely operating small equipment such as packers skid steers.
• Direct traffic at or near construction sites as requested
• Sound understanding of the issues involving ground disturbance
• Perform work following all construction safety protocols and programs
• Timely and accurate completion of all required paperwork
• Other responsibilities to support the safe and successful completion of the project.

Requirements:

• 1-2 years civil construction industry experience is preferred
• Previous experience with performing liner installations is ideal
• Valid Class 5 drivers licence is preferred.
• Small equipment operation (packer skid steer) experience is considered an asset
• Completion of CSTS-2020 Ground Disturbance and Confined space training will be required prior to commencing the project.
• Basic understanding of construction principles and procedures
• Capable of working with minimal supervision
• Ability to follow directions closely
• Comfortable working in high-stress environment with weather fluctuations
• Familiar with construction industry safety standards and procedures
• Valid Drivers License and clean drivers abstract

Work Environment & Physical Demands: Work is outdoors and conditions may include extreme temperatures and uneven ground. Position requires employee to frequently stand walk twist bend reach and kneel.

Compensation: The company can offer competitive wages from $24.50 - $30.62 per hour as outlined by the collective agreement with CLAC Local 68. Our culture is built on determination teamwork and integrity.
