Senior Stores Clerk Inventory

To be considered an applicant for this position you must meet the minimum qualifications as stated in this announcement. Must be either a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident of the United States
RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must have been legal residents of New York State for at least FOUR months immediately preceding the date of the test. Pursuant to subdivision 4a of Sec. 23 of the Civil Service Law preference may be given to successful candidates who have been legal residents of the municipality to which the appointment is to be made for at least FOUR months preceding the date of the written test.
This is a provisional appointment. Selected candidate will need to sit pass and be eligible on the next available Rensselaer County Civil Service Exam for Senior Stores Clerk to be considered for permanent appointment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma and two years of experience as stores clerk or four years of generalized experience plus the experiences indicated above or an equivalent combination of training and experience as indicated above. Experience with Microsoft Office programs preferred.
DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES: The Senior Stores Clerk performs work under general supervision allowing leeway for the exercise of independent judgment in carrying out assignments in accordance with defined procedures. Supervision may be exercised over subordinate personnel. The Senior Stores Clerk reports to the Coordinator of IIT or their designee and performs the following duties:
Receives sorts distributes issues and keeps records of incoming and outgoing mail
packages supplies and equipment.
Receives issues and keeps records of such items as auto parts tools clothing
food items office supplies or other supplies and equipment.
Assigns and supervises the work of subordinate personnel.
Maintains current inventory or stores on hand and prepares requisitions for replenishment.
Performs storeroom duties including but not limited to stocking shelves filling requisitions
tracking incoming and outgoing equipment and maintenance of computerized inventory and usage records.
Assists in physical counting of non-expendable equipment and with distribution and disposal of inventory.
Assists in the review of inventories equipment transfers and receipt of college property.
Keeps records of gas consumption and mileage of trucks and other automotive
Equipment.
Maintains records on consumption and mileage of trucks and other automotive
equipment.
Places stores on shelves and performs related manual tasks.
Prepare periodic reports regarding storeroom activities.
Operates automotive equipment for the pick-up and delivery of supplies inter-office mail equipment and other materials.
Perform other related duties that may be assigned.
This is a full-time 12-month 40-hour work week position with an hourly rate of $21.58. Start date is immediate.
