Location: Aldie VA
Job Type: Contract (School-Based)
Duration: 12 Weeks
Schedule: MondayFriday 8:00 AM 3:30 PM
Pay Rate: $28/hour
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Assistant (SPED) / Behavior Technician to provide one-on-one support to a student with behavioral needs in a school setting. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about working with children and supporting their academic social and emotional development through structured behavioral interventions.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 behavioral support within a special education (SPED) environment
Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) under the guidance of educators and specialists
Support the development of social emotional and communication skills
Utilize approved techniques to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviors
Collect and maintain accurate behavioral data and progress documentation
Collaborate with teachers therapists and multidisciplinary team members
Foster a safe structured and positive learning environment
Assist with classroom activities and daily routines as needed
Required Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma or GED (Required)
Associates or Bachelors degree in Psychology Education or a related field (Preferred)
Experience:
Prior experience working with children with behavioral challenges or special needs (Preferred)
Experience in school ABA or therapy settings (Preferred)
Skills & Competencies
Knowledge of behavior management and intervention strategies
Ability to remain calm and patient in high-pressure situations
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to follow structured plans and work collaboratively within a team
Strong observation documentation and organizational skills
Work Environment
School-based special education (SPED) setting
One-on-one student support role
Collaborative environment with educators therapists and support staff
