Assistant Softball Coach

The Assistant Softball Coach of Womens Softball reports to the Head Coach and the Director of Athletics. Assists in overseeing all aspects of operating a successful college level intercollegiate athletic program. All responsibilities will be under the leadership of the Head Coach and/or the Director of Athletics.

Essential duties:

• Assist student-athletes in obtaining spiritual growth and track academic progress. Provide appropriate advice and assistance to help ensure the success of each student-athletes spiritual development and completed stated program of study.
• Instruction of student-athletes teaching sport-specific skills tactics and techniques required per team and individualized workouts practices and games.
• Report any known or suspected violations of the NCAA and/or university rules by head coach assistant coach(es) student-athletes staff etc. promptly to the Director of Athletics.
• Assist in organizing and supervising all practices games and other workout sessions for the team. Assist head coach in the instruction and coaching of student athletes.
• Evidence of a thorough understanding of the rules and regulations governing intercollegiate competition and adhere to the rules and standards established by NCAA.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelors degree preferred
• Prerequisites for the Job:
  1. One or more years of successful high school college or private coaching experience is preferred
  2. Proven ability to communicate effectively one-on-one in small groups and in public speaking contexts
  3. Proven ability to communicate ideas and priorities effectively to promote teamwork and achieve desired results
  4. Demonstrated strategic planning skills and an ability to assess the teams competitive strengths and vulnerabilities
  5. Demonstrated skill in making strategic recommendations to enhance the teams performance
  6. Ability to work a flexible and irregular schedule
  7. Be able to run and command a pitching staff
  8. Make an offseason player development plan for our pitchers
  9. Must be comfortable with the possibility of making a lifting plan for the pitchers
  10. Directly oversee the development of all pitchers including creating practice plans
