ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Completes and signs necessary forms and explains the procedure to the patient.
Maintains patient care comfort and safety during transport to and from the coach and the exam.
Maintains technical competency through continued education.
Cooperates with facility healthcare personnel and complies with facility policies and procedures.
Calls for service and notifies all pertinent team members.
May assist with the setup and tear down of equipment following SMS and/or manufacturers guidelines.
Maintains a clean environment inside and outside of the facility.
Completes all necessary administrative tasks.
Follows quality assurance guidelines and maintains patient confidentiality.
Complies with all safety policies and regulations.
Performs additional duties as required.
EDUCATION
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Medical Assistant or Imaging Assistant required.
REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to safely enter and work in MRI Zones III and IV in accordance with MRI safety guidelines.
KNOWLEDGE
Medical terminology.
Knowledge of human anatomy.
Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to the work.
IV experience preferred
Knowledge of operating a PC and applicable computer software Microsoft products.

Lift and position patients for the type of MRI procedure required.

ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal clinic environment.
Must be able to work in an environment with multiple deadlines and priorities.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
May be exposed to disease and toxic chemicals in the course of performing the work.
The MRI environment includes strong magnetic fields that may pose safety risks for individuals with certain metallic objects or devices.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS
This position may require duties including lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds pushing and pulling more than 40 pounds and requires pushing patients in wheelchairs sitting for prolonged periods frequent standing walking bending reaching and occasional balancing and stooping.
Good visual and auditory acuity as well as good manual dexterity and the ability to be readily understood are essential.
