Position Summary
TheProgramming Director is responsible for maintaining a full schedule ofprofitable shows throughout the year; achieved by effective communication andcoordination across departments for space usage and aggressive outreach withtalent management. This position promotes an expansion of programming in linewith City Winerys philosophy of tastefully combining culinary and culturalexperience. The Programming Director drives programming that allows forample time to sell tickets; reach max attendance and promotes optimal food andbeverage selling opportunities and collaborates across departments on showannouncements in the most efficient effective and timely manner. Theyare present in nurturing relations between City Winery and artist managementand aid in the hand-off to the operations department on the day of show.

Overview of Responsibilities

Scout source and secure talent to maximize the calendar

Buildoffers and negotiate contract terms with music agents and artists in a timelymanner

Collaborate with the Concert Manager Box Office Manager and MarketingDepartment to announce shows in the most efficient and timely manner

Maintain aneffective system of storing sending and tracking offers contracts anddeposits

Direct themarketing of all ticketed events developed through the programmingdepartment.

Superviseall aspects of programming and promotion for 200 events annually: managecalendar oversee marketing hospitality production advance andsettlement

Seek and or develop creative programming that has the potential to growinto annual events

Maintain apulse on ticket sale progress plus ensure ticket counts are sent to agents asscheduled

Activelyresearch/identify artists for consideration and potential supporting acts

Maintaintalent database with contact information lists of previously played venuesand links to music and videos in company database (Google Docs)

Keepupdated spreadsheets for month end reports (monthly concert totals artistpayments press master List confirmed payments etc.) and provide a monthlybreakdown of show financials to accounting

Activelypursuing ideas for potential programming

Managewebsite updates for our shows as appropriate

Organizehospitality communication; build and uphold relationships with hotelstransportation companies and other relevant resources

Superviseand/or deliver all artist offers and contracts plus provide a final review ofday-of settlements ensuring artists are compensated properly and in a timelymanner

Act asliaison between artist/artist team and on-site management team when applicable

Manageprogramming interns through recruitment training project delegation andoversight

Seek new opportunities to form and maintain partnerships with outsideorganizations

Attend music conferences events festivals and other networkingopportunities for the purpose of identifying prospective talent maintainingexisting relationships and cultivating new ones with industry professionals

Utilizemarketing tools (website newsletter social media relationships with mediaoutlets venues and co-promoters) to promote venues increase outreach andattendance

Workclosely with local marketing director to develop and maintain brand personalityand event content on website social media platforms and all other marketingmaterial

Assist with production/advance at shows and events onsite and off asneeded

Prepare event budgets as needed for events that fall outside the normalprogramming schedule

Ensureprofitability. Maintain profit margins of at least 30% while working toreduce expenses and maximize ticket sales

Additionalprojects tasks duties as per business needs

Minimum Qualifications

5 years oftalent buying music booking or event industry experience

A passion for live music deep connections in-market andsignificant industry experience

Extensive network of industry contacts including artistsmanagers and agents

Deep knowledge of the local music scene and trends

Strong knowledge of the live entertainment industry

Strong interpersonal skills both written and verbal

Ability to work in fast paced environment

Impeccable organizational skills

Must have a high level of expertise in MS Office (Outlook ExcelWord PowerPoint)

Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights weekendsand travel as needed
