Job Summary:

The AMR Technical Officer will support the day-to-day implementation of antimicrobialresistanceactivities under the STRIDES Jordan Activity. Working under the supervision of the AMR & IPC Advisor theAntimicrobial ResistanceTechnical Officer will provide technical and operational support across AMR workstreamsassistin the development of AMR-related tools and materials and coordinate with government counterparts and implementing partners as directed. The position contributes to AMR surveillance strengthening capacity building donor reporting and workplan tracking and ensures project activities are implemented in alignment with international best practices and Jordans National Action Plan on AMR.

Accountabilities:

  • Provides technical support for the implementation of AMR activities in alignment with Jordans National Action Plan on AMR and relevant national guidelines.

  • Supports strengthening of AMR surveillance systems including data collection analysis and reporting at the facility and national levels.

  • Assistsin the development and dissemination of AMR-related tools guidelines training materials and technical briefs.

  • Monitors andmaintainsAMR project protocols instruments data sets manuals and training materials.

  • Conductssearchesofpublished literature on evolving issues in AMR antimicrobial stewardship and related public health areas.

  • Responds to technical requests and inquiries from internal and external staff related to AMR activities.

  • Supports implementation of AMR activities under the STRIDES Jordan workplan and tracks delivery of outputs against agreed timelines.

  • Ensures AMR technical implementation is consistent with best practices and meets donor contractual obligations.

  • Supports engagement with the Ministry of Health and relevant government entities on AMR surveillance and stewardship activities as directed by the AMR & IPC Advisor.

  • Coordinates with operations and finance teams to supporttimelyand on-budget implementation of AMR activities.

  • Drafts AMR technical progress reports and contributes to all donor reporting requirements.

  • Prepares and delivers presentations on AMR progress to the project team and relevant stakeholders.

  • Contributes to the development and review of annual workplans and AMR technical deliverables.

  • Assistswith the development of proposals and AMR technical design documents based on direction from technical leadership.

.AppliedKnowledge & Skills:

  • Working knowledge of AMRantimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) and AMR diagnosticsantimicrobial stewardship and related public health areas including familiarity with the Global Action Plan on AMR and WHO AMR core components.

  • Understanding of Jordans public health system national AMR landscape and relevant government structures is an advantage.

  • Experience supporting AMR programs and government counterparts in Jordan or the broader MENA region preferred.

  • Professionalproficiencyin both Arabic and English written and verbal is.

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills withabilityto manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Proficiencyin MS Office and relevant data management tools.

  • Ability to analyze and interpret AMRlaboratory and surveillancedataidentifyerrors and prepare clear andaccuratereports.

Supervision Given/Received:

  • Reports to the AMR & IPC Advisor.

  • Has no formal supervisory responsibility; may provide guidance to junior or support staff.

Education:

  • Bachelors degree orits internationalequivalent in Microbiology Public Health Laboratory Sciences Pharmacy ora relatedfield.

Experience

  • Minimum4 years of relevant experience in AMR microbiology antimicrobial stewardship ora relatedpublic health field.

  • Experience providing technical support to AMR or health security programs in Jordan or the MENA region preferred.

  • Prior work experience in a non-governmental organization government agency or private organizationoperatingin the public health or global health security space.
