Position: Senior Project Manager
Location: Kansas City Missouri
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to provide strategic leadership and oversight for complex high-profile roadway and transportation projects. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing multiple projects or large multi-disciplinary teams maintaining client relationships and ensuring successful delivery of major contracts and programs.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional who demonstrates strong leadership business acumen and technical expertise in roadway design and project execution.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee multiple roadway projects or large complex assignments.
- Serve as the primary client contact for major contracts and key accounts.
- Manage scopes budgets schedules and quality control processes across multiple teams.
- Develop and implement project management best practices within the Road Group.
- Mentor and coach Project Managers and Deputy Project Managers.
- Lead business development efforts including proposal writing interviews and client presentations.
- Collaborate with Group Leaders and executives on strategic pursuits and workload planning.
- Monitor financial performance and profitability across assigned projects.
- Ensure compliance with DOT AASHTO and other applicable standards.
- Identify risks and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
- Participate in staff performance reviews and contribute to team development.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required.
- 1218 years of progressive experience in roadway and transportation project management.
- Proven record managing large DOT or municipal transportation projects.
- Strong leadership communication and organizational skills.
- Experience managing multi-office multi-discipline project teams.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office.
Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person virtually and in writing.
- Occasional standing walking bending or reaching as required.
- Ability to lift up to 1015 pounds.
- Regular reliable attendance and punctuality.
