Strong growing produce company seeking Director of FS and QA to oversee their processing operations.
Responsibilities-
- Provide direction and leadership to Quality Assurance/ Food Safety Department personnel.
- Monitor and respond to quality indicators.
- Provide assistance to Sales staff in handling of product complaints from both external and internal sources.
- Responsible for government regulatory and customer audit administration.
- Monitor and administer HACCP & SQF programs.
- Troubleshoot and investigate food quality/food safety issues and interact with all customer representatives.
- Develop train and assess the performance of QA Department staff.
- Provide recommendations to management in relation to QA compliance.
- Maintain product specifications and food safety system documentation.
- Champion Electronic Record Keeping initiative across all GPG divisions.
- Additional projects and duties as it relates to this position.
Qualifications-
- BS/BA degree in Microbiology Food Science Biochemistry Chemistry Biological Sciences or related field.
- Experience in produce processing or food processing.
- Must be PCQI & certified in HACCP SQF Practitioner and knowledgeable in PrimusGFS.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a Food Safety and Quality Assurance-related position.
- Previous staff management experience is required.
- This person must be experienced and knowledgeable in the areas of food safety product safety product quality standards document control microbiology and regulatory issues pertaining to food production.
- Candidate must have extensive knowledge of implementing HACCP and FSMA Preventive Controls programs and requirements.
- Must be knowledgeable in food processing equipment and laboratory operations as well as food quality food safety and sanitation systems and programs.
- Must be able to work on multiple tasks simultaneously requiring communication and interaction with all levels of the organization.
- Must be able to read write and communicate in English.
- Must have a valid drivers license with a clean DMV driving record.
- Must pass pre-placement drug/alcohol screen.
