The Installer III is responsible for leading installation teams and executing complex installations safely efficiently and to DIs quality standards. This role routinely serves as the primary onsite leader for installation execution. The Installer III will interpret drawings plan install sequencing coordinate with project managers and trades and resolve field challenges to ensure projects and completed accurately and on schedule. This level of Installers are trusted to work with minimal supervision mentor other Installers and represent DI professionally on client site while delivering the Final 1% of project execution.

This position requires extensive travel and is based out of DIs Overland Park facility. When not traveling working in the fabrication shop is required.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONSmay include but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining a safe work environment by enforcing safety standards identifying hazards stopping unsafe work when necessary and ensuring team compliance with job site and DI safety policies.
  • Self-management and self-motivation.
  • Completing work accurately on time and better than budget.
  • Interacting with clients and consulting with Project Managers to resolve client concerns and change orders.
  • Executing complex installations of architectural elements signage systems and specialty components according to drawings and specifications.
  • Representing DIs Final 1%.
  • Troubleshooting installation challenges in the field using sound judgment to develop solutions that balance quality cost and schedule.
  • Communicating openly and frequently with the Install Supervisor and all other necessary in-house team members.
  • Communicating project progress daily with details and photos/videos.
  • Ensure the quality of the finished product meets DI standards by verifying measurements alignment fit and finish identifying potential issues early and correcting problems in the field to minimize rework return trips and punch items.
  • Operating DI vehicles safely and responsibly following all DOT regulations company driving policies and defensive driving practices to ensure the safe transport of crew members equipment and materials.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Must own the tools detailed in the Install Handbook and have proven ability to use them.
  • Ability to pass project specific background check as needed.
  • Strong and professional written and verbal communication skills and proficiency in various platforms and software used by DI.
  • Ability to lead and direct others while always being a positive role model.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel with short notice.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work long days nights and weekends as needed.
  • Has clear understanding of engineering drawings and schematic designs.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  • 5-7 years of experience on an installation team in signage or specialty construction required
  • OSHA 10 preferred.
  • MEC required.
  • Proficient in low voltage electrical circuitry.
  • Experience installing vinyl and graphics preferred
  • Supervisory or leadership experience required.

  • The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
  • The employee must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision distant vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
  • Employee must be able to talk and hear

While performing the duties of this job employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions moving mechanical parts fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions.
