24Summary:
The LMSW Social Worker provides direct social work services to patients and their families who utilize the Emergency Department of Cook Childrens Health Care System. This position requires an assertive person who is able to communicate effectively problem solve and think critically. This position requires dialogue with individuals regarding difficult topics. This Social Worker will be available to other floors during the scheduled shift to assist with any social work needs.
Schedule: Every Sunday 6:30am-7pm and other shifts as selected. Schedule is out 1 month in advance. Min hours 24 per week max 40 hours per week. Will require onsite orientation/training for 6-8 weeks
Education Experience and Licensure:
MSW/MSSW from an accredited school of Social Work.
LMSW Licensure in the state of Texas.
Previous experience in a hospital setting and some prior experience working with children and families is preferred.
Ability to work well under pressure and ability to deal with trauma and crisis.
Basis Life Support (BLS) Certification for Health Care Providers required within 30 days of employment.
