JOB SUMMARY:
The Dining Room Host may bethefirst-personguests encounter at our restaurants so must greetguests efficiently welcoming them with warmth and enthusiasm. DiningRoom Host seats guests according to restaurant standards provides menusensures servers are aware of guests seated in their sections as well asanswering guest questions and handling special requests.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Maintain a neatand professional appearance anddressaccording to propertyexpectations.
Understand theorganization of the dining room seating charts reservation list and membersof the service team
Make sure menusare properly organized neat clean and reflect the standards of therestaurant.
Have knowledgeof names of and recognize repeat or frequent diners.
Welcome allguests with warmth and enthusiasm and provide initial orientation to the diningexperience as they wait for an available table or as you escort them to theirtable. Be sure that guests are kept comfortable and informed if a wait isrequired.
Seat guestsaccording to restaurant organization and seating policies providing menus toeach diner and clearly explaining restaurant specific generalities and specialinformation for guests. Alert servers that guests have been seated attheir tables.
Assist servicepersonnel with pouring water clearing tables resetting tables providingdessert menus as needed.
Keep hoststation/reception desk organized and restaurant entrance neat according toproperty expectations.
Have knowledgeof cash collection and change making system in restaurant.
Say good-bye toguests as they depart if notified of any issues notify a supervisor ormanager so they can be addressed.
Be prepared toanswer basic questions about the property activities etc. or know where torefer guests for answers.
Work with othermembers of the Dining Room Team to ensure thatguestsneedsarecontinually met. Make restaurant management aware of any specialneeds so that notes can be made for future visits.
Handle andcommunicate guest requests special needs and guest complaints in aprofessional manner.
Label and submitall lost and found items according to property procedures.
Understandpersonal sanitation the use of personal protective equipment and be aware ofways to prevent personal injury from improper reaching lifting stretching andcarrying.
Know who tonotify in case of broken equipment or unsafe/unsanitary conditions.
Manuallyhandle/lift/carry product up to 30 pounds between knee and shoulders.
Must havebilateral fine manipulation of both hands which may be repetitive for entireshift.
Must bevertically mobile working in limited space for entire shift.
Protect theassets of this property and Migis Hotel Group.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must be eligibleto work in the United States of America.
Must be at least18 years of age.
Ability tocommunicate in English both orally and written with guests and employeessome of whom will require high levels of patience tact and diplomacy.
Ability to workas a part of a team.
Ability tounderstand verbal directions menu details labels on chemicals and otherworkplace safety signage.
Active listeningand observation skills.
Ability to workunder pressure and deal with deadlines and stressful situations during busyperiods.
ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Frequentwalking bending balancing stooping reaching pushing lifting manualdexterity and repetitive motions. May require the ability to work onuneven outdoor surfaces move and arrange chairs tables and banquetequipment.
Occasional stairclimbing.
Working inextreme temperatures and conditions both indoors and out.
Schedule variesaccording to operational needs; may include early mornings evenings weekendsholidays and split-shifts.
Frequenthand-washing.
Hazards includebut are not limited to lifting injuries slips and tripping.
