Operational Responsibilities:
- Install configure and maintain Microsoft SQL Server across versionsand 2022 including version upgrades and maintenance plans.
- Apply SQL Server service packs cumulative updates (CUs) hotfixes and security patches as required.
- Develop and implement disaster recovery (DR) strategies and conduct DR tests for mission-critical databases to ensure high availability.
- Maintain and manage databases hosted in Azure environments.
- Identify and troubleshoot blocking deadlocks index fragmentation and high CPU utilization queries.
- Utilize Dynamic Management Views (DMVs) and DBCC commands for performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Configure maintain and troubleshoot transactional replication setups.
- Implement high availability (HA) solutions including clustering database mirroring log shipping replication and Always On availability groups.
- Perform database refreshes different environments safely and efficiently.
- Manage database capacity by planning data archiving and file movement strategies to optimize storage utilization.
- Standardize SQL Server environments by establishing installation configuration storage CPU memory account and security guidelines following industry best practices and standards.
- Conduct performance tuning and query optimization using SQL Profiler Database Tuning Advisor (DTA) Perfmon DMVs DBCC and proactive health checks.
- Work with Business Intelligence (BI) components including SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS).
- Lead and support the migration of databases and BI components including SSRS and SSAS.
- Develop PowerShell and T-SQL scripts for automation and troubleshooting.
- Develop and maintain stored procedures triggers functions and joins.
- Enhance troubleshoot and maintain existing SSRS reporting services and reports.
- Apply ITIL processes including Incident Service Request Change and Problem management according to organizational standards.
- Manage database backup and restoration using tools such as Veritas backup software.
- Administer security management including auditing login user creation and permission management to ensure secure database environments.
Functional Responsibilities:
- Proactively analyze support ticket trends and implement permanent solutions to reduce recurring issues.
- Demonstrate strong analytical communication and interpersonal skills with proficiency in technical writing and presentations.
- Work independently or collaboratively in a team to achieve critical business objectives and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Coordinate change review meetings and manage incident resolution within Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Maintain logs for risks issues and actions; escalate and report as appropriate.
- Prepare and submit management reports on a daily weekly monthly or ad hoc basis.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze technology requirements and develop functional specifications.
- Present and implement technological alternatives to streamline processes and enhance productivity.
