The AMS position is primarily responsible for the daily management of customer account activities for domestic and export shipments of Polystyrene and/or Styrene Monomer. Key job responsibilities include but are not limited to: a) managing customer orders from order placement through invoicing and receipt of product by the customer; b) utilizing applicable SAP system elements; c) fostering customer relationships; d) supporting AmSty Commercial Team; e) investigating analyzing and resolving problems; and f) working efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced team environment. Additional responsibilities include coverage support for other AMS team members.
Primary Responsibilities:
- SAP Transactions
- Enter/create/change sales orders in S4 HANA (including consignment)
- Create downstream documents (through Delivery Note) when needed
- Maintain sales order notes
- Maintain sales order pricing condition tab
- Process S4 returns (virtual/Physical) and diversions when required
- Create/update Quality Notifications when issues are identified
- Manually price orders (understanding customer templates shipping conditions incoterms) when needed
- Create Manage and Maintain customer master data updates create rail addresses create new customers create/link partners
- Create Proforma invoices
- Maintain and advance overall SAP knowledge for troubleshooting
- Day-to-day Customer Service
- Understand and initiate new customer sold to or ship to process
- Confidently manage rotating afterhours phone (Carrier calls fielded by Logistics Team)
- Seamlessly backup designated AMS Team member(s)
- Assist with investigation analysis and resolution of customer problems and complaints and involve appropriate groups as necessary
- Understand AmSty Sales Areas Organizations taxes material costing
- Manage customer consignment accounts inventory reconciliation
- Participates in special projects and process improvements initiates projects and works with others on completing projects
- Established fundamental knowledge and cross train with others within Supply Chain
- Monitor customer forecast customer purchasing trends requirements and sales forecasts. When necessary reach out to customers when gaps arise.
- AmSty Plant and Terminal Activities
- Understanding of AmSty plant and terminal locations which locations ship which materials
- AmSty Internal Teams Knowledge
- Establish relationship with AmSty internal teams strong internal network
- Work seamlessly with Planning: Inventory control over forecast approvals etc.
- Participate in Product Stewardship: USMCA contacts and processes
- Quality: Quality certifications ISO certification
- Product Knowledge
- Possess Polystyrene product knowledge along with strategic customers
- Basic knowledge of your top 5 customers products
- Possess Styrene product knowledge along with strategic customers
- TBC training with Quality
- Possess basic feedstocks (Ethylbenzene Diethyl Benzene SM/EB Mix etc) product knowledge
- Coordinate with Accounts Receivable Team
- Resolve credit issues/invoice discrepancies

- Master manually pricing orders
- Customer communication
- Communicate with customers directly
- Communicate/manage customer expectations
- Communicate delivery disruptions as soon as details are available
