Sr Mechanical Engineer

• Planning conducting and technically directing projects or major phases of significant projects
  coordinating the efforts of technical support staff in the performance of assigned projects
• Interacting frequently as the organizational representative with the customer in the collection
  and translation of customer requirements to defined specifications
• Making frequent contact with customers teaming partners subcontractors and suppliers to obtain/exchange information provide technical direction and to assist in the resolution of technical issues
• Identifying defining and solving complex technical problems which require a high level of ingenuity and innovativeness based on broad objectives from management
• Encouraging optimum design within project schedule and funding limitations
• Interacting frequently as the organizational representative with the customer in the collection
  and translation of customer requirements to defined specifications
• Developing and delivering complex technical presentations to high level program management
  and customers
• Leading major program and/or design reviews and major proposal activities
• Performing extensive research and complex analysis on a major project to enhance the
  technical and economic development of the product and/or service
  • Completed reports or studies may be deliverable engineering products to the customer
• Providing functional and technical guidance to engineers or other organizations
• Providing leadership and technical direction for a project team
• Seeking new business opportunities in related technical areas
• Identifying new customers and/or develops additional tasking with existing customers
• Providing recommendations and assigning work to technical drawing staff

FILLING THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON AWARD

• Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering scientific or technical discipline
• Eight years of experience in the areas of mechanical design and engineering including the design manufacture and testing of mechanical assemblies to prove operation of design
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate mechanical and electro-mechanical systems and products by applying principles of mechanics and materials
• Demonstrated experience developing manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating building assembling and installing components
• Demonstrated experience with solid modeling infinite element modeling techniques and mechanical and thermal stress analysis
• Demonstrated ability to plan and design project work to meet project objectives and requirements
• Experience using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software such as Solidworks/Pro Engineer and Visio for creating or documenting system designs
  • This includes experience developing technical data packages and documentation in accordance with DoD standards and instructions
• Demonstrated experience with extreme power internal combustion machines/engines
• Demonstrated experience in shock/vibration modeling and simulation and highly accelerated life test/highly accelerated stress screening methodologies
• A proven background and track record in design for manufacturability
