Job Summary

About the Role

The Layout Specialist is responsible for creating digital layouts of stone countertop parts on slabs using Horus software. This role focuses on maximizing material yield while ensuring the best aesthetic placement of parts based on material movement veining patterns and customer expectations.

The Layout Specialist also manages layout-related files and reviews available remnants to ensure efficient material utilization across all jobs.

Key Responsibilities

Create digital layouts of jobs on material using Horus software
Ensure aesthetically correct placement of parts based on material pattern and veining
Maximize material yield across all layouts
Utilize available remnants when possible to improve material efficiency
Verify job information and material allocations prior to layout creation
Maintain and organize layout-related files and documentation
Collaborate with programming and production teams to ensure layouts are accurate and ready for fabrication

Requirements

Qualifications

Experience in layout design drafting or a similar technical role is an advantage
Experience using Horus software or similar layout/design software is preferred but not required as long as you are willing to be trained.
Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze material patterns and movement
Ability to maximize material utilization while maintaining aesthetic quality
Good coordination and communication skills for cross-team collaboration
Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
