We are looking for aBackend Developerto join our team for the 2026-2027 PEY term which will provide an amazing opportunity to contribute to ecobees impact and learn from some strong Engineering Talent.

Our Backend team is packed with experienced developers who are amazing and we guarantee that you will grow because of working directly with a Backend Developer youll use leading edge technologies to innovate highly concurrent server applications that directly impact ecobees success. You may work on deploying applications within ecobees infrastructure as well as AWS and Google Cloud Platform.

How Youll Make an Impact:

• Get hands-on with development of production features along with the rest of your team.
• Participate in planning scoping and creating specification for these productionfeatures.
• Learn about performance testing unit testing and debugging of critical high-volume systems.
• Work with best of breed backend technologies and techniques.
• Be mentored by senior software developers.

What You Bring to the Table:

• A current Computer Science Software Computer or Electrical Engineering student.
• Proficient at writing software in Golang Java C# or Node/Javascript with Typescript Python
• Good at getting your code to run on Linux-based systems.
• Cloud Experience you have some exposure to cloud technologies including AWS Google Cloud (GCP) Azure or Heroku.
• You are familiar with how to get your code live from getting it reviewed merged into a production Git branch and orchestrated on the cloud or in a datacenter. You care about the stability of what you build so our customers have a great experience 24/7
• An interest or experience in working with databases
• Eager to improve your software craft.
• Curious thoughtful and practical!
• Would like to make a difference in an intellectual and planet-positive environment.
