Job Summary

Big-D Heavy Industrial is looking for an Equipment Operator to join our growing team. Experience/Training:

Obtain the appropriate certification through an accredited institution.

Duties Responsibilities and Expectations: (other duties may be assigned to meet business needs)

Practice good safety habits
Control Equipment movement in response to hand signals or radio commands by signaler
Read engineering drawings.
Follow instructions.
Judge distances and slopes accurately
Obtain the proper certifications for each Equipment type necessary.
Determine load weights and check them against lifting capacities.
Move levels depress foot pedals and turn dials to operate Equipment.
Inspect cables and rigging devices for wear and install or replace cables.
Clean lubricate and maintain mechanisms such as cables pulleys or grappling devices and make repairs as necessary.
Direct helpers engaged in placing blocking or outriggers under Equipment.
Monitor weather conditions.
Inspects equipment structures premises and/or materials for evidence of deterioration or damage.
Drafts lays out and specifies technical devices parts and equipment.
Makes decisions and solves problems related to the construction decision if necessary with superintendent
Performs safety inspections as necessary per direction from supervisor.
Adheres to and performs functions according to company and OSHA safety guidelines.
Updates and uses relevant knowledge to complete own work.
Regular timely and predictable attendance is required for this position.

Performs other duties as determined and required by project need.
Operates Equipment s and/or equipment as required and if certified.

Requirements:

Basic OSHA and similar training is necessary; training will be provided.
Ability to understand and capture safety concerns and issues for team members.
Ability to follow verbal directions implement changes and monitor material and equipment usage.
Required to be exact or highly accurate and meet strict deadlines.
Ability to identify proper tools for specific functions.
Ability to listen and follow directions.
Ability to organize and prioritize work.
Ability to be responsible for the health and safety of others by working safely.
Ability to adhere to strict quality control measures.
