Job Duties:

The Learning and Technology Consultant supports instructors and staff in effectively integrating educational technologies(such as Canvas Kaltura and Zoom)into online hybrid and inperson teaching. This role enhances instructional design develops highquality and accessible digital materials and strengthens student engagement. Key responsibilities include providing training troubleshooting technology issues creating instructional resources and ensuring digital accessibility across courses and content. Thepositionalso contributes to universitywide initiatives that advance teaching and learning in both physical and digital learning environments.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Technical Support: Provide handsonassistancewith learning technologies (Canvas Zoom Kaltura) and assistive tools (screen readers captioning software); troubleshoot technical and accessibility issues; support effective use of instructional technologies across modalities; and respond to Neurons support tickets withtimely effective resolutions.

  • Accessibility & Compliance: Design develop and remediate instructional materials to meetaccessibility standards (including WCAG); conduct accessibility audits and testing; and ensure alignment with Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles.

  • Resource Creation: Develop andmaintaindigital accessibility training materialsincluding guides reference manuals online modules and templatesto support faculty and staff.

  • Consultation & Training: Provide oneonone coaching lead workshops and create training resources focused on best practices in digital accessibility and instructional technology.

  • Knowledge Maintenance: Stay current with UDL principles accessibility regulations and emerging trends in instructional technology across inperson blended and online learning environments.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides consultation training and/or support for learning technology tools and platforms
  • Designs and develops engaging effective learning experiences which may be face-to-face blended and/or online
  • Provides training and technical support directly to learners in settings such as classrooms labs clinics and distance learning mediums
  • Collects organizes interprets and disseminates data to identify instructional program needs and enhance effectiveness
  • Researches designs and/or acquires learning resources technologies materials and/or processes to support learning
  • Designs develops and delivers faculty development and engagement programs and activities
  • Designs develops organizes maintains and consults on instructional materials activities curricula and assessment resources in accordance with current pedagogical practices cognitive/learning science and design tools and methods
  • Analyzes tests troubleshoots resolves issues and provides feedback regarding learning technologies
  • Designs develops or recommends multimedia learning materials. Facilitates communications with multimedia service providers to ensure instructional needs are met

Department: TheCenter for Advancing Student Learning(CASL) at the University of WisconsinMilwaukeeis the universitys central hub for supporting excellence in teaching and learning. CASL empowers instructors and students by promoting innovative evidencebased teaching practices advancing educational technology and fostering inclusive highimpact learning experiences across all modalities. The center provides collaborative professional development strategic digitaltool integration and instructional support designed to enhance student engagement and success. As a unified resource for teaching online learning and distributed education CASL champions flexible accessible and studentcentered approaches that reflect the diverse needs of UWMs academic community. Through strong partnerships responsive support and a commitment to continuous improvement CASL works to cultivate a futureready teaching and learning environment where all students can thrive.

Compensation: $57500- $67500/annually.Salarywill bedeterminedbyfinalistsexperience training education and equity-based factors.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field
  • Two years of experience with a university LearningManagementSystem (LMS)
  • Three years of customer service experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in an education or related field
  • Evidence of excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Evidence of troubleshooting in Canvas LMS
  • Demonstrated understanding or work with digital accessibility laws
