Dietary Cook / Line Cook - Make a Real Difference Every Day!

What youll do:
- Follow detailed recipes to prepare tasty nutritious meals for patients including special diets tailored with help from our Registered Dietitian.
- Keep the kitchen clean and safe following strict IDPH food safety rules to protect everyone.
- Pitch in wherever needed from stocking the freezer to chatting with patients about their meals or helping to prepare next weeks menu.
- Work as part of a fast-moving team that wears many hats every day.

Qualifications :
Dietary Cook: Officially we title this job a Dietary Cook but in other centers it may be called Line Cook or even an entry level Chef.
What we need from you:
- Current (ServSafe) Food Handler Certificate
- Current Sanitation Certificate
- At least 1 year of experience as a Cook/Chef in a healthcare facility or commercial/central kitchen (strongly preferred)
- Basic knowledge of computer-based documentation systems
- Understanding of good food preparation serving techniques and food safety and sanitation rules
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
- Ability to read write speak and understand English
- Ability to regularly stand for lengthy periods of time push pull move and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds and pass a pre-employment physical and background check

This center is managed by TRANSITIONAL CARE MANAGEMENT. We currently provide comprehensive management services to several inpatient healthcare centers throughout Northern IL & the Chicagoland area. These settings include Long-term Care Skilled Nursing (SNFs) Short-term Care Rehabilitation Intermediate Care (ICFs) and Behavioral Health Service (SMHRFs) centers.
Each center is unique; offering you a variety of long-term career opportunities.
