The Job Mission
This is a hybrid role requiring regular presence near Bridgwater with relocation support available where appropriate. Working as a Piping Engineer this role supports the client organisation in delivering compliant and effective piping systems. The position focuses on resolving engineering issues supporting installation activities and contributing to safe high-quality project delivery.
Support resolution of technical queries non-conformances and design changes
Assist in ensuring piping systems meet safety and regulatory requirements
Review technical documentation to support alignment with engineering standards
Work with internal teams and external partners to coordinate technical inputs
Track and support closure of technical issues and outstanding queries
Identify and escalate risks related to piping installation and design
Interface with Responsible Designers and multidisciplinary stakeholders
Provide updates and progress reports to senior engineering team members
Support installation readiness and constructability across site activities
Assist with inspection activities including NDT methods and quality checks
Qualifications :
Nuclear experience is not essential but is of course welcome. If you have worked within a highly regulated environment your skills and approach are highly transferable and of strong interest to us.
We also recognise that the perfect candidate rarely exists. If you feel you meet around 80% of the criteria and are motivated to develop further we would strongly encourage you to apply.
Degree or HNC in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
Experience in piping design installation or site engineering
Understanding of codes and standards such as ASME EN BS CDM
Awareness of inspection techniques including basic NDT methods
Experience working on construction or large infrastructure projects
Exposure to multidisciplinary engineering environments
Understanding of welding processes and basic quality requirements
Some site-based experience supporting installation or construction
