The primary job functions of this position are to act as the equipment maintenance technician for the completion of scheduled and demand preventive/predictive equipment maintenance troubleshooting repair and improvement of process and facility equipment and to deliver 24 hour / 7 days a week maintenance support to the facility. The Mechanical Equipment Technician will also provide technical support in the design installation and qualification of new or modified process or facility equipment.
Responsibilities
- Performs or arranges for preventive and demand maintenance on a wide variety of equipment including electrical plumbing and process equipment.
- Supports reliability-centered maintenance program(s) at the site by performing or coordinating completion of predictive maintenance activities such as equipment vibration analysis oil/lubricant analysis ultrasonic thickness or other non-destructive testing infrared heat mapping etc.
- Conducts and documents activities in a manner that maintains facility compliance with good manufacturing practices (GMP) process safety management (PSM) and other applicable regulations.
- Provides maintenance expertise in support of manufacturing investigations failure and root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action planning and execution.
- Strictly follows all environmental health and safety (EHS) procedures and supports efforts to improve facility EHS performance.
- Attends all required training and complies with the responsibilities associated with the maintenance technician position as detailed in the applicable Standard Operating Procedures.
- Conducts maintenance-related training sessions as required.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment (I/O sensors actuators communication faults) to minimize downtime.
- Calibrate and verify field instrumentation (proximity sensors photoeyes encoders pressure/temperature transmitters).
- Document work in CMMS (e.g. Maximo) including failure codes corrective actions and parts usage
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications :
- HS diploma with 10 yrs. Experience or Relevant Certificate with 5 yrs. experience or Associates technical degree with 3 yrs. Experience or proficient in two or more skilled maintenance functions.
- CMRT (Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician) or equivalent accreditation desired
- Knowledge and ability to use advanced tools (i.e. machine tools diagnostic tools predictive tools)
- Intermediate computer skills (MS Windows)
