Athletic Trainer Sports Medicine Outreach LOSC

Valid Ohio drivers license and proof of auto insurance is required by hospital policy. Must pass a motor vehicle background inspection insurance eligibility driving qualifications and training set forth by Nationwide Childrens Hospital and must maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.

Essential Functions:

• Collaborates with and supports physicians in the delivery of high-quality patient care in a clinical and rehabilitative setting assisting with performing age-appropriate evaluations and treatments for pediatric adolescent and adult patients.
• Completes timely and accurate documentation of injuries treatments encounters and billing of services in the electronic medical record in accordance with NCH policies.
• Coordinates and communicates with patients families physicians and other healthcare team members to ensure excellent customer service and continuity and quality of care.
• Develop professional relationships with patients families and other medical providers to become a valued healthcare resource to ensure delivery of high-level customer service and education while continually looking for ways to improve the quality of their patient experience.
• Maintains knowledge of scientifically based and medically established best practices for pediatric and adolescent sports medicine care and a commitment to remaining up to date in clinical care.
• Committed to self-directed professional growth and participates in staff development continuing education and community engagement activities sponsored by NCH.

Education Requirement:

• Bachelors Degree in Athletic Training or related field required.
• Masters Degree preferred.

Licensure Requirement:

Licensed as an Athletic Trainer in the State of Ohio required.

Certifications:

• Certified with the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer required.
• CPR certification required.

Skills:

Proficient with MS Office and electronic medical records.

Experience:

Three years of athletic training experience preferred.
