Job Title:Special Programs Clerk/PEIMS(for the 2026-2027 school year)
Exemption Status/Test: Non-Exempt
Reports to:Director of Special Programs
Dept./School:Special Education Department
Primary Purpose:
Provide clerical and data management support to the Special Education Department to ensure accurate documentation timely communication and compliance with state and federal requirements. Assist with the coordination of ARD committee meetings maintain Special Education data systems and support purchasing and general office operations.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to use software to develop spreadsheets and databases and word processing
Effective organization communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to understand and follow detailed written and verbal instructions
Ability to meet established deadlines
Experience:
1 year clerical experience
1 year data entry experience (preferred)
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Records and Reports
- Enter and maintain special programs data in the district student information system and PEIMS to ensure accuracy and compliance with state reporting requirements.
- Maintain student records and process requests for student information.
- Assist with scheduling ARD meetings and coordinating communication between campus staff and the Special Education department.
- Enter requisition information to request purchase orders for supplies materials and training needed for Special Education programs and services.
- Provide general clerical support to the Special Education department including filing document preparation and data organization.
- Maintain organized records and ensure confidentiality of student information.
- Assist department staff with clerical tasks and special projects as needed.

- Assist in district office as needed.
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping pushing/pulling and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching
Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
