Head of China Accounting
As the Head of China Accounting you will lead the overall accounting operations across different BU in China.
You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy timeliness and compliance of financial reporting while driving the standardization and optimization of cross-BU accounting processes and team workflows.
Your core mission is to enhance the efficiency and quality of the entire accounting function support business decision-making and safeguard the integrity of financial operations in China.
More about the role:
1. Leadership & Oversight of China Accounting Operations
- Manage and oversee the daily accounting work of HI/AB/China Mgt China including general ledger (GL) accounts payable (AP) accounts receivable (AR) fixed assets cost accounting and monthly/quarterly/annual closing processes.
- Ensure all accounting activities comply with Chinese Accounting Standards (CAS) local tax laws and regulations and group financial policies.
- Supervise the China accounting team set clear work priorities allocate resources effectively and resolve complex accounting issues across divisions.
2. Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare and review financial statements for responsible BU ensuring accuracy completeness and compliance with internal and external reporting requirements.
- Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits tax audits and other regulatory inspections ensuring the provision of complete and reliable financial documentation.
- Monitor tax compliance of responsible entities including timely declaration and payment of corporate income tax VAT and other taxes and support Corp tax to optimize tax planning within legal frameworks.
3. Process Standardization & Efficiency Improvement
- Lead the design and implementation of unified accounting policies procedures and workflows for responsible BUs in China eliminating inconsistent practices and reducing operational risks.
- Drive the optimization of cross-BU accounting processes (e.g. AP/AR settlement cost allocation intercompany transactions) to improve efficiency reduce cycle times and minimize errors.
- Promote the adoption of financial systems and tools (e.g. ERP financial automation software) across the accounting teams and provide guidance on system utilization to enhance overall operational productivity.
4. Team Management & Development
- Build and develop a high-performance accounting team including training coaching and performance evaluating team members.
- Foster a collaborative and positive team culture encourage knowledge sharing across business divisions and enhance the professional competence of the entire team.
- Succession planning for key accounting roles ensuring the stability and sustainability of the China accounting function.
5. Cross-Business Collaboration & Support
- Partner with business leaders BU finance functional departments to provide accounting support address financial inquiries and align accounting practices with business objectives.
- Participate in cross-BU project reviews and decision-making processes providing insights from an accounting perspective to support business growth and risk management.
More about you:
- Professional Experience
- Minimum 10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role (e.g. Accounting Manager Finance Lead) in a multinational company or large enterprise preferably in the healthcare/FMCG sector.
- Proven experience managing accounting operations for multiple business BU/entities with a track record of successfully standardizing processes and improving financial efficiency across the organization.
- Hands-on experience with Chinese Accounting Standards (CAS) and local tax regulations as well as international financial reporting standards (IFRS/US GAAP) is a plus.
- Extensive experience in financial closing external audit coordination tax compliance and financial system implementation (e.g. SAP Oracle).
